The American River Festival is great fun for the whole family. Events include downriver raft and kayak races, slalom kayak races, whitewater rodeo, films, family activities and workshops.

Camel International White Water Challenge
Africa and the thundering Victoria Falls set the scene for the world's most thrilling white water experience. The towering Batoka Gorge compresses the mighty Zambezi river into a whirling mass of rapids, whirlpools and boils, navigable only by the best and bravest. Thirty international teams line up to take on Nyami-Nyami .... this is the Camel International White Water Challenge.
Gore Canyon Downriver Race
It's the ultimate riverrat race, an "officially unofficial" run down the Colorado River through the too tight, very dark, really deep Gore Canyon in northwest Colorado. A few dozen kayaks and river rafts hit the Class V rapids on Sunday, August 27.

Rojomo River Expedition departed the Missouri River Headwaters State Park at Three Forks, MT to retrace
Lewis & Clarks footsteps in their kayaks. They plan on recording their experiences to develop educational materials
on Lewis & Clarks and the Missouri waterway and it's inhabitants.

Sound Rowers sponsors 12-15 races per year for all human powered water craft. These races are on open inland salt water or lakes in Western Washington and range in length from 5 to 26 miles.
