Some Logistics

In order to get the page up I'm not going to spend much time on this.

The main options for parking (that I'm aware of) are either McGraths state beach ($$) or a side street in town. I would recommend launching from the harbor in Oxnard this is closer than McGrath and has no surf (which at McGrath is steep beach break) There is a sandy boatlaunching area off Victoria Blvd. and parking can be found on side streets nearby. McGrath would be nice if you need to stay overnight regardless of where you launch from. If you don't already know what kind of weather and safety precautions you should take you should really be considering if this is a trip for you. I will not condesend and tell people what they should bring but if anyone wants to write I will be happy to share my opinions. For those who may be familiar with other waters just beware of the fog, and the shipping traffic.

Below are some sources of info:

Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, 113 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara, CA 93109 (805) 966-7107 For navigation most good maps that show the islands will probably do but for those that want the nautical charts they are:
National Ocean Survey Charts 18720, 18729, and 18756.

Channel Islands National Park, 1901 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura, CA 93001 (805) 658-5730.
